Is walking meditation Christian?

Some express concern that walking meditation isn’t Christian, because many meditation practices have come from Eastern and Buddhist religions.

This love breathing walking meditation emerged from a revelation that I needed to love God more, that I wasn’t in my heart practicing Christ’s greatest commandment to “Love the Lord thy God with …”.

The entire purpose of this walking meditation is to love God more, to establish a deep, ongoing loving communion with Him.

A practical coaxing process to let God in is key. Quieting the mind, being still a little at first is necessary to make room for loving God. For “No man can serve two masters … Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”  So as the mind is quieted a little, then you start loving God, inviting God into your heart. Once God comes in a little, He can help you quiet your mind more. For feeling His love can be more enticing than any thoughts of earthly desires. As your mind quiets more, God comes in more, then He quiets your mind even more.  Until ultimately, we want to be only with God in heart, mind, soul, and strength.

This meditation isn’t about “emptying the mind”, it’s about cleansing the mind of mammon so God can come in.
